Employing five minutes or less of transvaginal ultrasound of the posterior compartment and observation of the relative positioning of the ovaries and uterus could help decrease the delay of diagnosis of people at risk of endometriosis, according to an expert consensus statement from the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound. The ideal target screening population, techniques for enhancing pelvic ultrasound, and direct and indirect observation for endometriosis at ultrasound, were also defined and described in the statement.
