The Bacher Group operates at the intersection of biology and statistics, driven by the challenges of inferring accurate and novel biological discoveries from complex data. Our group develops relevant statistical methods and computational software addressing important challenges in genomics, epigenomics, and biomedical research. We are dedicated to ensuring accessibility of our software and contributing to the larger research community through open-source platforms. In our collaborations with scientists and clinicians at UF, we use statistical models and machine learning to better understand how molecular phenotypes change in response to environmental stressors, age, and disease.

My research focuses on the development of statistical methods and computational tools for analyzing high-throughput genomic and next-generation sequencing data. My current focus is on single-cell transcriptomics and epigenomics and time-course transcriptomics.
