It is a joy to read LinkedIn posts of those transitioning from student to alum. The smiling happy faces say it all. It is a time when many realize that the past years of overbooked days and nights with a lack of sleep were worth it. Let the next chapter commence! SHR MBA Katie Caffrey will join another SHR MBA alum, Kendra McAdams, at Bank of America in Charlotte, NC. Congratulations to our BBA student assistant, Megan Hutchison! Megan is a graduating senior majoring in Management & Human Resources with a certificate in Consulting. She became interested in HR after taking a few introductory classes her sophomore year. After participating in events with the Career Forward Center and networking with alumni, she discovered her passion for the analytical side of HR, specifically Total Rewards. In 2022, she worked as a Compensation Intern for Milwaukee Tool, which confirmed her interest in Total Rewards. She returned the next summer as an HR Operations Intern, taking on broader HR responsibilities, gaining project management and leadership skills while working with various HR departments. During her senior year, she worked as a student assistant for the SHR Center, helping with alumni engagement and event planning. She also expanded her HR knowledge by traveling to Seattle for the 2023 ISCEBS Employee Benefits Symposium and by attending the 2023 SHR Symposium. After graduation, Megan will be working for WTW as an Analyst in Chicago, assisting organizations in optimizing their work and rewards strategies! She is excited for the opportunity to combine her HR knowledge and experience with the consulting skills she has gained from her coursework. Megan is grateful for all the support she has received from Tanya A. Hubanks, SHRM-SCP and the SHR Center throughout her time as an undergrad at the Wisconsin School of Business. She will miss Madison, but is looking forward to taking the nesxt step in her career! SHR wants to express our deepest gratitude for Megan's help this academic year and wishes her luck in her HR future! #HRgraduate #classof2024 #thankyou

On April 9th, I had the pleasure of hosting a dynamic DEI x ILC movie night, and it was an absolute hit! 🍿🌟 We transformed our MBA Lounge into a cozy cinema complete with popcorn, pizza, and comfy seating, to delve into an essential conversation about inclusivity and representation. Our theme for the evening centered around disabilities in the workplace, aiming to foster a more open dialogue and cultivate a deeper understanding of how we can create a truly inclusive environment. From thought-provoking discussions to eye-opening moments, the movie night provided a fantastic platform for us to come together, share experiences, and learn from each other. A massive thank you to everyone who joined us! Your engagement and enthusiasm made the event truly special. Let's continue to champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in everything we do. Together, we can create positive change. 💪🌟 Please check out the link below if you would like to read more about the event! A huge thank you to Mahina Adams for proofreading and uploading my blog post 💖 As well as Tanya A. Hubanks, SHRM-SCP and Shanae D. for continuously championing DEI within the Wisconsin School of Business! https://lnkd.in/g9VYYNf9 #DEI #ILC #InclusionMatters #DiversityandInclusion #WorkplaceInclusion #MovieNightSuccess 🎥🍿

- SHR Wisconsin MBA Student Spotlight - Meet Class of 2025 student, Antionett Jackson Antionett Jackson is a first year MBA student specializing in Strategic Human Resource Management at the Wisconsin School of Business (WSB). She earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee where she specialized in Cell and Molecular Biology. During her undergraduate studies she worked for the School of Education in the Special Education & ASL department and the Office of the Dean of Education. From these experiences she developed strong skills in communication, adaptability, critical thinking, and a knack for problem solving. This is evident in her post-undergraduate roles at the Blood Center of Wisconsin (Versiti), the NBA, SMASH, and Exact Sciences. These experiences inspired her to seek out educational opportunities that specialized in people, what impacted their experiences at work, and how modern companies build better employees. Her curiosity ultimately led her to the WSB and the Strategic Human Resource Management specialization. In her post-undergraduate work, Antionett supported implementation of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, advocated for pay transparency, obtained equitable pay for her team, and implemented company-wide processes of improvement. With over 12 years of experience in customer service, diagnostic healthcare, and academia; she has developed a passion for creating successful working relationships and environments for employees while exceeding company goals. Since becoming a Business Badger, Antionett has joined the Inclusive Leadership Committee, been named a Consortium member, been selected by her peers to be the Diversity Chair for the MBA program, and is continuing to work outside of school. She is an active member of the Class of 2025 striving to enhance student engagement and inclusivity in the WSB program culture. This summer, Antionett will join Caterpillar Inc. as a Corporate Human Resource intern in Decatur, Illinois.
