Connecting with Pre-Health Resources This Semester
Welcome to Fall 2026! As the semester gets underway, here's a reminder of how to connect with some of the pre-health advising resources tailored to every stage of preparing for a career in healthcare.
1-on-1 Advising
- First-year students are welcome to meet with CPHA during First-Year Fridays, hybrid drop-in advising exclusively for freshmen hosted every Friday from 9 AM-12 PM.
- Full 45-min appointments can be made starting your second year, and drop-ins for second-years and up are on Tues/Wed/Thurs from 1-3:30 PM. Find drop-ins sign up information via the CPHA Events Calendar
!
Self-Paced Canvas Courses
- In addition to one-on-one advising, CPHA runs several self-paced Canvas courses. These are free, non-credit courses maintained by CPHA advisors that serve as resource libraries for pre-health students. Check out Pre-Health 101 to get started.
Pre-Health Website
- Explore pre-requisite coursework information by profession, learn the difference between patient care experience and clinical experience, find information about shadowing, keep up to date with upcoming events, and more on our website: prehealth.wisc.edu.
As a UW-Madison student, you have full access to CPHA’s resources for as long as you need them – even after you graduate. We look forward to seeing you this semester and beyond!

Our Shared Future
"Our Shared Future is more than a heritage marker. Our Shared Future represents UW–Madison’s commitment to respect the inherent sovereignty of the Ho-Chunk Nation and the other First Nations of Wisconsin. It is a first step that calls on each of us—faculty, staff, and students—to deeply consider our shared past and present with Indigenous peoples in this place,
Teejop (day-JOPE), and to make our own personal and institutional commitments to achieve a shared future with them.
Our Shared Future is a process, not a land acknowledgement or something to recite. It is a collective act of moving together from ignorance to awareness; an educational framework for posing questions; and an opportunity to celebrate Ho-Chunk people, as well as learn about the hard truths of our histories with them. It is a challenge to educate ourselves and each other, and create a better future together."
